They deal out lots of damage with magic enhanced ammo through a gunblade (melee), so my first thought is an Artificer, though for the sheer length of their damage rotation I’m more tempted to say an Eldritch Knight as maxed out they get lots of attacks and could flavour touch magic into enchanted ammunition. Gunbreaker -> Eldritch Knight: This is a tough one.

Plus the Hound of Ill Omen can be flavoured as a Living Shadow that the Dark Knight gets in FFXIV Maybe a step into Shadow Magic sorcerer to give them some of their ranged or aoe based attacks.
Multi-classing gives them the rage and hit die of a barbarian, but the flavour and self healing of a Paladinĭark Knight -> Oathbreaker Paladin: At least thematically I think this works well, especially if they wield a greatsword. Warrior -> Paladin/Barbarian: In game this class wields a great axe and has a couple of self healing abilities, but is mainly about the savage attacks and going berserk. Paladin -> Paladin: This one is an easy one, sword and shield, and some healing, a simple step, though just need to consider which Oath would suit them most.
Here are my thoughts on the current classes now in FFXIV: Healers have many types of healing and the providing of shields, but they don’t have melee weapons, unlike DnD clericsĭPS, just hit everything in your favourite flavour of pain. Tanks are meant to take damage and aggro from enemies and deal it back with melee attacks I know it is a weird thought as the party roles are a quite fixed in FFXIV. I tried to avoid homebrew or magic items but didn't quite succeed. No conversions, just the existing books and probably general flavour changing. Using only the official rules, how would you make each FFXIV class in DnD? I have been playing a fair bit of Final Fantasy XIV, and I’ve seen that some DnD players have created some amazing conversions of FFXIV classes into the DnD rules.īut I got wondering.
